Jonah Reeves tests grill grill stone options for home cooks needing a crisp crust when the oven runs low. These picks focus on flat surface heat.

Jonah wouldn't reorder this if… A flat ceramic surface on a gas grill delivers the high, direct heat needed for a crisp crust. This setup works when your oven stays below 500 degrees or lacks a broiler.

Your oven runs below 500 degrees or lacks a broiler, so the crust stays soft. A flat surface on the gas grill fixes this by delivering direct, high heat to the bottom of the pie.

Look at the product photo to verify the stone is a solid, flat slab suitable for a gas grill grate. Check the listing title for the specific ceramic material and size before adding it to your cart.
