For 4-inch refractor owners needing a wider field of view, this planetary nebula eyepiece fits short focal lengths to show more detail in one glance.

Evan's spec pass. Select a 2-inch wide-angle eyepiece to expand the visible area of a planetary nebula. This setup suits 4-inch refractors with short focal lengths for a single-glance view.

If you are using a 4-inch refractor with a short focal length, a standard eyepiece often cuts off the edges of a planetary nebula. This page focuses on a 2-inch wide-angle option that widens your field of view so you can see more of the object in one glance.

Look at the product photo to verify the 2-inch diameter and the wide-angle design. Ensure the listing title or description confirms it is a planetary nebula eyepiece suitable for tight field views.

The title specifies a 1.25-inch barrel with a 62-degree field of view, which is a standard interface but may not provide the expansive view needed for large nebulae in a short focal length refractor.

Check the photo for the aspheric lens profile to verify the coating claim, as the 1.25-inch size limits the exit pupil and field of view compared to 2-inch options.

This listing bundles a 1.25-inch 15mm eyepiece with a 2-inch ED 2X Barlow lens, offering a magnification boost but retaining the smaller 1.25-inch eyepiece interface.

Look at the photo to see the physical size of the 2-inch Barlow versus the 1.25-inch eyepiece, as the Barlow does not change the eyepiece's field of view width.

The title lists a 1.25-inch 7.5mm eyepiece paired with a 2-inch ED 2X Barlow, providing higher magnification for planetary details but not the wide field needed for nebulae.

Examine the photo for the 2-inch Barlow connector to ensure it matches your telescope's focuser, while noting the eyepiece itself remains a 1.25-inch design.

This bundle includes a 20mm 66-degree ultra-wide angle eyepiece with a 6mm companion, both in 1.25-inch barrels, offering a wide field but limited by the smaller barrel size.

Check the photo for the 66-degree lens curvature to confirm the wide-angle claim, as the 1.25-inch format restricts the view compared to 2-inch eyepieces.

The title identifies a 20mm 58-degree wide-angle eyepiece in a 1.25-inch barrel, suitable for general viewing but not the widest option for large nebulae.

Look at the photo for the 58-degree lens design to verify the field of view, as the 1.25-inch size is a standard but limiting factor for short focal length refractors.

This 5mm 58-degree eyepiece in a 1.25-inch barrel provides high magnification for planetary work, but the narrow field of view is unsuitable for viewing large planetary nebulae.

Check the photo for the 5mm lens size to confirm the high magnification, as the 1.25-inch barrel limits the exit pupil and field of view.

The title specifies a 9mm 66-degree ultra-wide angle lens, offering a wide field of view but in a 1.25-inch barrel, which is smaller than 2-inch options.

Look at the photo for the 66-degree lens profile to verify the wide-angle claim, as the 1.25-inch size may not provide the expansive view needed for large nebulae.
